Our mission is to promote positive youth development and prevent gang and youth violence within the local community.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Outreach Mentor to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of young individuals.


Responsibilities:


  • Engage with young people in the Greenford Broadway area to establish positive and trusting relationships.
  • Conduct discussions and workshops on gang and youth violence awareness, emphasizing prevention strategies and the importance of making positive life choices.
  • Organize and facilitate group activities and mentoring sessions that foster personal growth, selfesteem, and leadership skills among the youth.
  • Collaborate with local council, police, and community organizations to coordinate efforts and create effective outreach programs.
  • Actively involve families and caregivers in the youth outreach initiatives, providing them with support, resources, and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all interactions, progress, and outcomes related to the youth outreach programs.
  • Stay updated on local and national youthrelated issues and trends, ensuring the delivery of relevant and impactful services.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification in social work, psychology, youth development, or a related field (preferably but not a necessity)
  • Proven experience working with young people, preferably in a mentoring or outreach capacity.
  • Strong understanding of gang and youth violence issues, including their underlying causes and prevention strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups of young individuals and build meaningful relationships.
  • Ability to lead group discussions and facilitate workshops effectively.
  • Knowledge of local community resources, services, and support networks for young people and their families.
  • Familiarity with local council procedures and protocols is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including police and community stakeholders.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including, to accommodate the needs of the target audience.
  • Valid DBS check (preferably on the update system)
