Due to continued expansion, we are presently looking for a Hire Desk Controller to join our team and share in our success.


This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading supplier of power generation, solar-hybrid-generators, fluid storage, lighting towers, and product related accessories to the UK and Irish rental markets for both purchase and rehire.

As a Hire Desk Controller, you will be responsible for promoting a range of ancillary services and benefits to customers whilst building effective customer relationships to ensure customer enquiries are resolved promptly and satisfactorily.

You will be responsible for securing new business from both existing and new customers to maximise customer potential, achieve your objectives and agreed targets and deliver company profit.


Working closely with the Depot Manager and other hire desk staff you will manage and plan daily activities and ensure that all hire contract administration is accurate to assist in the smooth running of this busy depot through proper management of equipment, personnel and processes you must ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner in accordance with specifications and 'Good Practice' requirements.

You will also adhere and promote compliance with current H&S legislation and Company specific health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Refer any potential new customers to the Sales Team for a visit and follow up.
  • To support the external sales team and management team with enquiries as above, where required.
  • Demonstrating strong communication skills to deal with customers and employees at all levels of the business
  • Inputting hire contracts, processing offhires, suspensions, breakdowns, etc and ensuring all documentation is accurate.
  • Liaising with the Workshop team to prepare machinery for hire.
  • Arranging delivery and collection of orders in accordance with the customer's requirements.
  • Liaising with thirdparty transport companies to facilitate delivery / collection of equipment & to gather quotations for transport movements when required.
  • To selforganise, plan, manage and complete your own daily, weekly, monthly workload.
  • Attend hire meetings organised by the management team.
  • To hit Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) set by either your line manager or management team in line with your sales targets.
  • Always manage all MHM visitors and machine viewings in a courteous and polite manor.
  • Contribute, represent, strengthen, and always enhance the MHM brand and reputation.
  • To be expected to attend and support any trade exhibitions and customer open days should the management team require you to do so.
  • Any other task as requested by the Management Team that could be reasonably expected of your position.

Attitude

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to react to changing demands in a professional manner
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organised and highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or individually.
  • Tenacious, adaptable and able to prioritise their workload.
  • Excellent IT and report writing experience including Word, Excel, Office.
  • Confident, friendly, efficient and goal driven with excellent communication skills either face to face or over the telephone, to both the customer and MHM team
  • Forward thinking, innovative and expresses ideas to improve rehire revenue, hire operations, hire systems, and work practice
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced operational structure

Hours:


  • 8am to 5pm Mon to Fri, excluding bank holidays.
