The post holder will provide senior support for all employment related matters for the Medical Workforce at NBT.

They will promote a quality, customer-focused HR administration service to Divisions, ensuring adherence to Trust policies and procedures and statutory requirements.

  • To assist the Medical Workforce Advisers in ensuring and efficient and effective Medical Workforce service is provided for junior and senior medical staff.
  • Liaise with appropriate external stakeholders such as Heath Education England South West and Royal Colleges to ensure an effective and consistent Medical Workforce service is delivered for all medical staff.
  • To manage and monitor preemployment checks, including, GMC, Visa and Occupational Health requirements, ensuring these are in line with NHS and local employment requirements.
  • To manage and interpret information from HEE in respect of Junior Doctors in Training and to help with the prediction and identification potential gaps in rotas.
  • Monitor the compliance of the Code of Practice within the 2016 Terms and Conditions of Employment are met. Providing junior doctors in training with appropriate work schedules, contracts of employment for their role.
  • Identify any sensitive / difficult issues arising from preemployment checks and escalate appropriately.
  • To provide administrative support to the Guardian of Safe Working in managing the exception reporting system and outcomes.
  • Provide support and guidance to departments in relation to junior doctors rotas and exception reporting using Allocate E-Rota.
  • In the absence of the Medical Workforce Manager and Medical Workforce Advisers provide appropriate senior cover as necessary, including supervision of the Medical Recruitment team.
  • To manage own workload. Completing work in accordance with deadlines and agreed standards.
  • Ensure that remuneration and grading information is assessed accurately and in accordance with the relevant Medical and Dental terms and conditions of employment.
  • Process salary administration effectively including appointment and change forms.
  • Liaising with payroll as required and inputting onto the Electronic Record System (ESR).
  • Assist with the introduction of any new electronic systems, including the national TiS system to supporting streamlining for junior doctors in training.
  • Support the implementation of junior and senior doctor rostering systems, ensuring information entered is accurately reflecting the role to enable doctors to be rostered.
