Support Worker, where you will provide a tailored, one-to-one high-quality service of engagement, advocacy and support to young adults with complex emotional needs.

About this exciting opportunity


As our
Support Worker you will focus on supporting the internal and external promotion of our project to support young adults with complex emotional needs (YACEN) to engage in positive activities within their communities across Bedfordshire and to support the achievement of project targets for engagement and progression onto training, employment and other outcomes for the YACEN.


We will also count on you to establish and maintain effective relationships with not only all staff at St Giles Trust but local authorities, voluntary organisations, mental health services, schools/colleges and other services across Bedfordshire, plus to develop contacts and liaise with external agencies to build positive working relationships enabling effective referrals of participants.

Actively promoting gender equality and involving the people we serve and assisting in the implementation of the Trust's policies and procedures are also key duties.


What we are looking for

  • Experience of working on targetdriven projects and a proven ability to support others to reach targets
  • The ability to engage and holistically support young adults who face multiple barriers to employment
  • Indepth knowledge of the issues faced by the client group in accessing and sustaining employment
  • The ability to engage and build positive relationships with employers to support both employees and employers, and encourage improvements to the quality of employment
  • Impressive interpersonal, IT and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A flexible, professional and collaborative approach to your work
