Insurance Consultant (Part Time)
£30,000 (Pro Rata)

About the role
The key purpose of this role is to support the Schemes Manager with managing compliant delegated authority scheme products that exceed our customers' expectations, and are geared for growth and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure our schemes meet client needs and provides them with market leading cover.
- Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with insurer partners.
- Identify new or alternative partnerships.
- Assist with queries from other team members and ensure referral to the Schemes Manager as necessary.
- Building an indepth knowledge of our schemes.
- Actively identify crossselling/upselling opportunities across all of our schemes.
- Act as an additional technical underwriting resource for trading teams during busy periods.
- Promote awareness amongst team members of service delivery SLAs.
- Act as an ambassador for the business at external events.
- Actively support a culture of regulatory compliance.
- Support Compliance and Trading teams with complaints resolution.
- Support Compliance team with regulatory and internal product governance controls in the operation of our schemes.
- Engage with the Claims team to ensure there is an effective feedback, loop and open lines of communication to ensure trends and threats to our schemes are identified and addressed.
- Ensure computer records are accurate and in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.
- Liaise regularly with managers and team members relevant to the progression of the business.
- Ensure that CPD is actively maintained through various learning methods and record accurately.
- As required to support the business needs.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Is an experienced, motivated and highly organised insurance professional, preferably with some knowledge of underwriting delegated authority schemes, whilst at a broker or insurer.
- Has a sound proficiency in technical commercial underwriting principles, and is familiar with handling more complex cases and referrals.
- As well as a strong technical background, is also able to demonstrate stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to challenge and influence where necessary.
- Holds a minimum CII qualification of Level 3 Certificate in Insurance.
- Resides within a reasonable commute to our offices in Cheltenham, GL52 2QE and is willing to travel to other SEIB offices if required.
