Description

The role of the KSS TPD and Training Support Lead is an important standalone role and will have different and varying hours.

The post holder will work with and support all KSS Specialty Medicine Trainees, Training Programme Directors and Head of School in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the Health Education England mandate.

In particular, the TPD and Training Support Lead will manage and support all trainees who are identified as needing assessment and support in their roles.


This will include:


  • Face to face meetings with trainees
  • Interaction with Training Programme Directors and KSS Head of School and Postgraduate Dean
  • Working with the Professional Support Unit (PSU) in HEE
  • Working closely with HET's Case Management Team
  • Liaising with Occupational Health specialists and Trust Human Resource Departments
The TPD and Training Support Lead is professionally and managerially accountable to the Head of School.

The TPD and Training Support Lead will focus upon improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.

The role is evolving and will also focus on whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links.

There is already a well developed support service in place with good links across the School and a newly set up network of TRAS TPDs across HEKSS.


To support the Postgraduate Dean, the TPD and Training Support Lead will work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models.

This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.

Secondments

The base will be Stewart House, 32 Russell Square, London, WC1B 5DN until 31st March 2023. From 1st April 2023 onwards the base will be 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London, E14 4PU.
