A quick look at the role.
To manage gas control systems and electricity generation from Landfill Gas.


Why it's an opportunity not to be wasted.

  • Ensure collection of LFG from landfill sites to provide fuel to engines to deliver KPIs and business goals.
  • To ensure safe management of LFG systems including management of contractors to ensure they perform and deliver in a safe and compliant manner.
  • To ensure safe management of LFG systems including management of contractors to ensure they perform and deliver in accordance with environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Collect, understand and record data in order to deliver against KPIs in a safe and compliant manner and inline with budgeted targets.
  • Identify and recommend works that can be undertaken to deliver maximised performance.
  • Deputise for Regional Controller on conference calls, meetings etc when Regional controller unavailable.
  • To take and record daily readings/data from engines and inform O&M contractor of any anomalies (in order for Biffa to make 3% £120k per annum savings on O&M costs).
  • To take and send away for analysis weekly oil samples from engines (in order for Biffa to make 3% £120k per annum savings on O&M costs).

Requirements:


Here's what we require:


  • Qualification in Health and Safety IOSH desired
  • Hands on mechanical, gas and electrical training and experience including repair, management and balancing in a landfill environment
  • Mechanical/Engineering/Science qualification a degree standard would be desired
  • Computer literacy (including Excel) essential

Desirable:

  • Hands on mechanical, gas or electrical training and experience.
  • Landfill operational experience
  • Landfill Gas management.
