At our recently upgraded site at King George Dock we operate the UK's largest refinery for edible oils and fats.

We supply businesses in the sectors of food manufacturing, baking, Foodservice and retail, and we work closely with customers to co-develop bespokeproducts.


About the role

Reporting to the Area Shift Leader, the aim of the role is to deliver the product of the right quality, at the right time, in the right quantity for the right cost in a safe and effective manner.

This role is a Manufacturing Technician and will be part of ourFoodservice department. The role will operate on a 3-shift pattern, primarily focusing on line set-up, running packing lines and high-performing changeovers.


Responsibilities:


  • Flexible in the operating, changeover, and suitable line level PPM & TPM work on all filling and packaging equipment within the department when required, often covering multiple different work areas in a single shift.
  • Provide a high level of advanced technical support across the entire range of filling and packaging equipment
  • Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working
  • Perform fault finding tasks on filling and packaging equipment and systems to minimise downtime and optimise efficiency.
  • Train staff on production line, including setup, changeovers and running of production lines.
  • Be aware of daily targets and perform online tasks accordingly. Always acting in a manner that guarantees maximum OEE whilst maintaining quality and HSE standards.
  • Complete all documentation promptly and accurately to meet the requirements of documentary evidence for certification requirements, i.e., BRC, FSSC 22k, ISO 9k, ISO 14k and to carry out inprocess checks and batch reconciliations
  • Maintain housekeeping standards during all packaging procedures
  • Complete effective line/batch cleaning and clearance including the completion of required documentation.
  • Undertake specific projects as and when required within the scope of the job holder's capabilities and responsibilities

About you
You should also possess the following skills and experience:

  • Good verbal and written communication are essential
  • Good practical aptitude with good hand and eye coordination along with good dexterity skills
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Engineering principles
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Quality Certification
  • Experience working as a line setter in an allied industry desirable
  • Knowledge of engineering principles
  • Manufacturing line setup, changeover and problemsolving
  • Multi factory & cross functional support with high level of interdependency
  • Food manufacturing & health, safety & environment
  • HNC/HND desirable, but not essential
