Main purposes of job
Community Mental Health Support Worker required in Wymondham and surrounding areas

  • Supporting people with mental health problems to undertake day to day activities as per support plan.
  • Promoting independence and social inclusion for people with mental health through the support given to undertake day to day activities as per support plan.
  • Innovatively and creatively working with service users in ways that promote recovery
  • Keeping records of work carried out with service users as well as that which is necessary for the job, and making sure that all the information is accurate and up to date.
  • Ensuring the safety of service users, ie their surroundings as well as understanding their risk assessment.
  • Being aware of safeguarding issues, ie to be able to identify issues relating to safeguarding and understand the process for raising a safeguarding concern.
  • Ensuring your own safety by being aware of the service user's risk assessment as well as working according to the loneworking policy
  • Involving service users in planning for their support and, where possible, involve their family / friends and professionals involved with the service user's consent.
  • Being flexible in the way you support service users to maximise their support experience as necessary.
  • Keeping the confidentiality of service users, other agencies as well as anything else pertaining to work
  • Understanding the Data Protection legislation (GDPR) policy as well as the information sharing process
  • Communicating effectively with service users and professionals
  • Engaging in relevant training for role and for professional development
  • Understanding and implementing Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England
  • Being conversant with company policies and procedures and work within its guidelines
  • Upholding the reputation of the organisation
  • Being able to assess risks and work in a safe way
  • Working collaboratively with other agencies were necessary to maximise service users' outcomes
  • Signposting service users to other agencies where deemed appropriate
  • Attending regular supervision with your manager
  • Attending team meetings
  • Working in a professional manner and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Identifying unanticipated problems and escalating to manager
  • Undertaking any other duties that may be deemed by yourself or your manager as necessary for the role.

This is a temporary position with prospect to become permanent long term


Salary:
£11.50-£14.50 per hour
