Role - Materials Planner

Salary - £32,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Type - Permanent, Full time

Location - Oxfordshire
My engineering client is looking to take on a Materials Planner for their procurement team near the Oxfordshire area.

This person will be responsible for organising and carrying out all actions linked to planning and acquiring raw materials and components.

Manufacturing - Engineering - Purchasing - Communication - Supply Chain - Planning - MRP - Procurement - Production - Motorsport - Aerospace - BOM

The Materials Planner will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Experience within a similar production / material planning role in a manufacturing environment
  • Have previous experience managing and structuring complex BOMs
  • Have the ability to prioritise workload
  • Good team working and problemsolving skills
  • Can work well under pressure to achieve deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to work with a variety of people at varying levels
  • Being adaptable to work effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • Be computer literate with a good level of experience working with MS Excel and Word
  • Experience using ERP & MRP systems
  • Strong analytical skills

The Materials Planner role will involve:

  • Ensuring the demand planner is kept up to date
  • Notify the Buyers on when to place, cancel and hold orders
  • Overseeing and keeping the MRP system up to date and serving as the project procurement groups' point of contact
  • Structuring and reassigning BOMs (Bill of Materials) hierarchy
  • Analysing and reporting potential supply risks
  • Communicating with the Buyers any required part changes
  • Assisting with supplier performance and quality assurance, tracking supplier performance data
  • Adhering to the company's purchasing procedures
