Job Description:

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for having an overview of all operations within the Engineering team, maintaining a top-level view of companywide project progress, ensuring the projects have the resources for timely completion and making surethat the engineering team is happy, healthy, and motivated.

Core Responsibilities:

PROJECTS:

Responsibility for implementing and adhering to processes in Project Management System.
Design project process and resource allocation with the engineers, attending all Project Kick-Off and Wash-Up meetings.
Have complete oversight on all live projects, with awareness of the POV of all stakeholders (client, engineers, sales, China and the exec team).
Manage project process carefully, ensuring adherence to timelines, or when there are issues, efficiently making decisions to mitigate client risk.

PEOPLE:

Be a champion of the team's welfare, and have the confidence to take necessary steps to ensure the wellbeing of each team member.
Create a culture of direct communication across the team, where you use technical knowledge to show understanding and promote transparency across projects
Be a 'safe pair of hands' who supports the engineers in their decision on projects, and gives them the confidence that the responsibility of those resolutions is shared with a senior team member
Get to know the team learn the engineers' personalities, ways of working and quirks and use this knowledge to best structure their resources.
Listen always have your ear to the ground to pick up staff/project issues

CHINA

Support the China office with resource planning from the UK. Coordinate at the beginning of manufacturing projects on the timeline and identify potential risks.

SALES TEAM

Work with the sales team to generate project plans and costs for sales proposals, working with the wider engineering team to gather input and approve the plan as feasible for delivery on time and on budget
