Role overview:

We're looking for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join the team.

This is a busy and varied role; responsible for assisting in the payroll preparation and processing of the monthly payrolls.

Responsibilities:


To assist in the following:


  • UK monthly payroll preparation and processing, including taking ownership of ad hoc changes (ie tax code changes, adjustments to earnings etc);
  • Preparing numbers for inclusion in overseas payrolls, liaising with overseas payroll providers and arranging payments to be made;
  • Managing relationship with overseas payroll providers;
  • Answering payroll related queries from employees around the business.
  • Assisting with external payroll reports including preparation of Gender Pay Gap report and P11Ds;
  • Processing and calculating maternity, paternity pay, sickness & absences;
  • Assisting with calculating and inputting salary sacrifices and salary deductions; and
  • General ad hoc payroll admin tasks.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Must have experience of payroll processing and be able to perform ad hoc calculations;
  • Experience of Ceridian advantageous but not essential;
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment and be able to prioritise workload accordingly;
  • Must have good communication and numerical skills and be able to explain complex payroll issues in an understandable manner;
  • Must work well in a team and also individually;
  • Must be willing to contribute with equal enthusiasm to a variety of tasks ranging from basic admin tasks to technical calculations and discussions.
  • Proven experience of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to include mail merge, pivot tables and formulas
