Job summary:

  • Our organisation is driven by information. As a Knowledge and Information Specialist, you'll maximise that information's impact and actively contribute to our mission. Working with a range of unique and interesting information, you'll use your specialist skills to drive business outcomes and inform key decisionmaking.

Job description:

With a background in information management, you'll help implement best practice and share your knowledge to support the development of our community.

This is a customer-facing role where you'll provide advice and guidance and help shape your team's approach to meet a range of requirements.

You'll also engage with stakeholders across the business and ensure wider compliance and standards.

You'll represent our information department and its aims. In doing so, you'll gain a thorough understanding of our objectives and legal obligations.

You'll join the team that manages our data and information. This team is responsible for records management, data management, information and knowledge management, policy, and data governance.

As your career develops, you could take on subsequent posts in different areas of the organisation and there may also be line management opportunities, depending on the posting.

Whichever organisation you join, you'll have a key role in enabling digital and technological change.

That could mean overseeing systems, contributing to the development of working practices and policies, and ensuring developments in information management tools are implemented.

Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the role, opportunities to work from home are limited.

We do offer flexible hours such as a compressed four-day week, nine-day fortnights, accumulated time off in lieu (TOIL) or part-time (three days per week), however the latter may impact your salary.

Person specification:

You'll have a qualification in data/information/records management or data governance, or a minimum of two years relevant experience in one of these areas.

Given the nature of our organisation, experience of working with highly regulated data and ensuring compliance with legal obligations is valuable but not essential, so please don't rule yourself out if you don't have this.

In particular, you'll have a talent for information management and be keen to build your career in this area.

You might have previously worked with an electronic document and records management system and developed information policies, or have previous experience of delivering policy, technological change or working with a change team.

Benefits:

  • Learning and development tailored to your role
  • 25 days annual leave and 10.5 public and privilege holidays
  • An environment with flexible working options
  • A culture encouraging inclusion and diversity
  • A Civil Service pension with an average employer contribution of 27%
