Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect - ETL/ELT Pipelines, Data Architecture, ETL Transformation, Cloud Engineering, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, SQL, Technical Advisory & Consultancy, Implementation.

Insurance/FinTech. London/Remote (One Day PER MONTH Onsite).12 Month Contract - OUTSIDE IR35 - £600 - £800 p/day.
Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect required by FinTech operating within the Insurance markets.

You will be engaged to provide architectural consultancy, advice, design service and the lead the subsequent implementation of the ETL Pipeline deployed in the AWScloud to support multiple SAAS platforms operated by this company.

As the Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect you will initially look at the SAAS platforms, both in production and R&D, as well as the data landscape which is significant and disparate and provide consultancy around architectural standards for Data Warehousing/DataLakes (Redshift/Amazon S3) etc.

On the ETL/ELT process front this is likely to incorporate technologies such as AWS Glue, Hevo, Stitch, Talend, Boomi, Snowflake, Databricks etc and how they are best applied but it will be for you to demonstrate to the varioustechnical departments how these can be used to their advantage.

You may also consider Terraform and Kubernetes in part of your designs and indeed use these tools when it comes to deploying new ETL pipelines in the AWS cloud.

We are searching for a Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect / ETL Engineer who has gained experience in both Architectural Design capacities and hands-on ETL Engineering.

You will be familiar with both ETL and ELT processes as well as contemporary AWS technologiesin this field including AWS Glue (or similar) and Amazon S3 / Redshift (or similar).

You will be capable of both architectural work and hands-on ETL engineering work and be able to engage with a broad range of technical personnel including Solution Architects,Software/Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Product Managers.

Excellent technical knowledge, persuasion and problem solving skills pre-requisite.
This is a fully Outside IR35 compliant contract.

You will be required to work under your own initiative, assessing the objectives, eliciting requirements and delivering a solution which is fit for purpose.

It is anticipated that the initial work will be completedwithin 12 months but this assessment will form part of the early consultation and may be adjusted depending on input from the successful consultant who will advise on such matters and schedule work accordingly.

This global company operates from City of London offices but on a largely remote basis. You will be required to attend site one day PER MONTH. Weekly invoice processing available.
