Description

Overview:

PROGRAMME PLANNER
Birmingham Office, B90 8AS

Who are we?
We're a built environment consultancy, helping our clients to create better places for people to live, learn and work.

We are enabled by great people who are inspired and proud of what they do and respected for who they are.

At Ridge our people are the foundation of our success, and our greatest asset. Our people are what separate us, they drive our vision and embody our values. We offer not just a job, but a journey. We believe in commitment, and the value of a stable, flexible, long-term career path. We challenge our people to be the best they can be and help them grow with the right development.

Role and Responsibilities:
This is an energetic and innovative role at Ridge, establishing a new service specialism to support our expansion strategies. It's an agile, collaborative and largely autonomous role, which presents the perfect opportunity for someone seeking a new challenge.

There will be some prompt hands-on delivery on one of our existing priority projects.

However, we will be mindful to balance this delivery requirement with protected time to develop the service specialism and grow your team.

We are ideally seeking an industry expert who has delivered programme planning on large scale projects or programmes of work, as some of our projects exceed £1bn in value which presents a particularly high level of complexity.

We're open for you to have either a consultancy or contractor background, assuming that you are comfortable managing stakeholder relationships throughout the development of your programmes, within the key projects.

Ideally, you'll be based from our Solihull office within our Project Management team, albeit we'll be seeking for you to build relationships across all of our offices and disciplines.

As, in the future, we are anticipating national coverage of this service specialism.

Reporting directly to an Equity Partner, you'll benefit from expert guidance, collaborative support and a direct route to the wider key stakeholder network within Ridge.

As this is a unique opportunity and a new role to the business, the responsibilities will continue to involve, but here is what we anticipate some of the key responsibilities to be:

  • **Delivery*
  • As mentioned above, there is some immediate demand for programme planning support on some of our existing large scale complex projects, primarily within the Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing sectors.
  • We also have a developing PMO and Project Controls expertise and service offer to which this opportunity comfortably aligns.
-
Learning & Development

  • We have over 100 PMs within the discipline who would benefit from expert programme training, which to date has been through adhoc project experiences and MS Project training.
  • The opportunity is twofold: develop a handbook guidance which can upskill PMs; utilise PMs to support programme delivery and 'learn on the job'.
-
Leadership

  • This role presents the opportunity to develop and lead a highperforming team of programmers, to support the creation of this new service specialism across the business.
  • We have an agile working philosophy and see value in the team being located across any of our offices, particularly aligned to our expansion plans for our Manchester, Birmingham, London and Bristol offices.
-
Growth

  • Beyond the short term, we are looking for this individual to help us develop a strong future pipeline of programme planning work, building on the existing opportunities being identified.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Ideally you will be degree qualified within a relative field
  • Ideally you would hold MRICS / MCIOB / APMP or similar industry recognised Chartered status, albeit this is not essential and we can support you to achieve this chartered status
  • A passion for the built environment, specifically for providing a quality service to our clients to help them to create better places for people to live, learn and work.
  • Experienced in programming high value, large scale and complex projects gained in either a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with individuals of all levels, both internally and externally
  • An ability to build, nurture, influence and maintain trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, partners, peers and other key stakeholders.
  • An inspirational, modern leadership style, with the ability to effectively build a highperforming team.
  • An ability to contribute to the growth and development of the team, adding value for our clients, and developing a Programme Planning service specialism across the wider business.
  • An excellent allround technical programme planning knowledge, to establish yourself as a trusted advisor within your team, office and the wider business.

What's in it for you?
Our people are our business - our vision is to be ever progressive, expanding our expertise and nurturing
