Job description:

Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst-
North - This role can be based at either Leeds or Warrington.

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst you would be part of the Core Technical team who manage and administer the core IT Infrastructure services on a day to day basis.

Participate in the build and operation of all UK and International IT Infrastructure services.

Contribute to cost effective and robust service delivery - working with IT service functions to help define and deliver services to meet the business and IT Service Management requirements.

Cloud optimisation and cost control management is a key focus areaof the role.


What you will be doing

  • Contribute to Information Security processes regarding all business technical infrastructure, ensuring that all infrastructure services are secure built and run in line with best practice and company policies. This includes contributing to the ownershipandresolution of any identified risks or incidents identified as part of security escalation processes.
  • Assisting to deliver a costeffective service that meets the operational and commercial needs of the business.
  • Working closely with the Technical Architect and PMO function contributing to the ongoing planning, design, implementation, operation, maintenance and improvement of Murphy's technology infrastructure within approved capital and operational expenditurebudgets.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the IT Commercial and Operations teams in the design and delivery of technical infrastructure for projects through bid and mobilisation phases. Maintaining agreed technical blueprints to standardise project infrastructuredelivery.
  • Provide tactical and judicious guidance, when invited, within the Technical Design Authority (TDA), ensuring best practices and standards are clearly defined and adhered to by the wider the IT Team.
  • Maintain appropriate governance across all IT services in terms of compliance with company and IT related projects, helping to subsequently drive continuous improvement, best practice and create a high performing team.
  • Provide strong Service Management skills in relation to support tickets (Incidents and Problems) addressing issues in good time (aligned to any approved SLA).
  • Contribute to the smooth transition of services as they move through service transition to service acceptance and beyond into benefits realisation to agreed quality and process standards.

Who we are looking for

  • Extensive experience with public cloud services (primarily Microsoft Azure and Office 365). Must be experienced in the management, administration and mobilisation of services (particularly IaaS, PaaS and Microsoft Security Services including Microsoft Defenderand Microsoft Intune).
  • Extensive experience of managing and administering virtual and physical Wintel server environments (including VMWare).
  • Extensive experience of managing and administering identity / directory management services (Active Directory) in large organisations.
  • Experience working with 3rd party Security Operations Centres.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Sentinel and/or the Microsoft Defender suite of services.
  • Usage of commercial control tools in public cloud to manage and control costs, including licence management (Microsoft Advisor).
  • Microsoft Operating Systems (Azure Windows Virtual Desktop knowledge beneficial).
  • Managing and administering Microsoft SCCM / Intune / Endpoint Manager.
  • Core networking concepts including (TCPIP, switch stacks, routing and Wi-Fi solutions).
  • Mobilisation of "green field" locations including new technology configuration.
  • Management and development of solid data backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Usage of technology (including scripting and automated techniques) to replace manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
