Site - Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital

Grade - Band 3

Hours per week on a 4 week Rota which does include some weekends and Bank Holidays

Salary - £21,730 rising to £23,177 per annum after 2 years + unsocial hours payment applies to some shifts

  • You will be Supervising a team of Logistics Service assistants to ensure the team/department meet their service Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), Service Level Agreements (SLA's) which are held with local Clinical Commission Group (CCG's), Lancashire Care NHS and other health related organisation
Your duties will also include supporting and managing sickness absence, training requirements and annual PDR ensuring training compliance is maintained for you and your team


You will be required to run the shift with the support of a helpdesk operator for both internal and external Logistics movements for the Trust and the wider Health Care Service out in the community.

You will need to hold the skills to enable you to organise and manage office, ward and departmental moves, deliveries of stock and ensuring any stocks held are managed and the rotation process in place is adhered to.

Daily collection and delivery to all GP's and clinics within the East Lancashire Area. Ensuring vehicles maintain the Logistics UK van excellence award and that the vehicles Operating under the Operator's licence meets the compliance standards and undertakings of that licence you will be responsible for managing the vehicles, their PPM's


We are a busy team who expect everyone to pull together, and to follow schedules and standard operating procedures (SOP's) and policies when performing duties.

Training will be given on all the different roles that you will be required to undertake throughout your working day and the systems that we use.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, physicaly fit idividual who is capable of moving and handling goods of varying sizes, shapes and weights and who is also capable of walking quite a few miles in a day, every day to join our busy team who work across 24/7.


The purpose of our team is to supervise all Logistical aspects of our busy Acute Teaching Hospitals and of supporting our NHS collegues out in the community.

Will need to be flexible as we need to ensure all supervisor lines are covered throughout the week.

The department operates a 7 day service over 52 weeks of the year and Bank Holidays will need to be covered.
