The Opportunity


The purpose of this role is to be the
Senior Finance Business partner working with functions to provide
expert financial advice and
guidance to the business in order to support the achievement of current and future finance business objectives, through the provision and analysis of financial and business data.


To ensure appropriate measures are in place and accurately reported to monitor performance against targets (e.g economic scorecards), reporting to the local functional heads and to the division, ensuring deadlines are achieved.


To provide direct input and financial analysis to cross functional teams/IPT's at a senior level and represent finance in monthly functional discussions on demand, capacity and expenditure plans to help influence decision making.

To support the financial budgetary and forecasting process within the function of control.

To manage and help develop team members as required


What you'll do as a Senior Finance Business Partner

  • Provide advice and guidance on financial matters and queries raised by the function giving clear and concise data when needed in an efficient manner
  • Provide support on the financial budget and forecasts for functional operating costs and workload ensuring that the resources identified over the 5 year plan are appropriate and aligned to the function demand plan.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of functional economic scorecards to the division giving explanations and variance analysis as required
  • Provide reports and present financial performance at functional monthly business reviews to help influence appropriate decision making
  • Prepare month end reports for functional operating costs and resources and intercompany revenue and margin within the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Ensure SAP maintenance is supported in order to maintain month end integrity. Key point of contact for functional SAP issues (WBS, production orders and hours) working closely with functions, finance teams and IT for resolution and/or raising change requests to support business transformation needs.
  • Manage invoicing of Intercompany work, working with functions and division to ensure issues resolved and pricing correct
  • Initiate and manage projects, as required, to assist with the achievement of organisational goals. Provide data to support cost/ benefit analysis and monitoring of improvement initiatives, resource and spend.
  • Support and implement the introduction of new processes and procedures advising the functions of the financial implications of process improvements ensuring that the accounting impact is accurately reflected within the ledgers. Ensure functions make efficient use of SAP and B.I. and Power B.I so that they can use the IT systems to access their information on performance and costs.
  • Support adhoc requests from the Finance Controller/Director as required and provide cover of other team tasks as necessary.
  • Ensure awareness of the wider objectives of the Finance department and make sure all tasks are focused on timely support of the team to support the management of the team. To help develop junior team members to facilitate and encourage a productive working environment.
  • Manage team member(s), if required including setting and reviewing objectives, mentoring and ensure workload is appropriate.
  • Responsible for taking reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to cooperate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.

What we need from you

  • Recognised Professional Accountancy qualification with postqualification experience
  • Good business acumen and ability to place financial analysis in the context of business needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills, able to communicate and collaborate cross functionally and cross geographically to realise opportunities and deliver set targets.
  • Motivator both self and others
  • Team player, who can both lead and support as circumstances require, in cross functional (matrix) organisation
  • Ability to understand supporting systems and processes and be able to generate continuous improvement in process under their control
  • Numerate with an ability to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent PC Skills, both ERP and Microsoft office
  • Knowledge of manufacturing / operations environment a preference
