Role - Purchasing Coordinator
Location - Liverpool
We are currently working with a world-leading manufacturing company who have an exciting oppertunity to join the team as a Purchasing coordinator with the oppertunity to develop, train and progress into a senior buyer postion.
The Role:
As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our procurement process, ensuring the efficient sourcing and procurement of materials essential to our production.
You will collaborate closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining optimal cost efficiency.
Your attention to detail and strategic mindset will be instrumental in streamlining our purchasing processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate procurement activities to meet production requirements and deadlines.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, costeffective, and timely delivery of materials.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to optimize cost savings.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and prevent shortages.
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to uphold quality standards.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment is ideal but not essential.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP,)
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
