An opportunity has become available and we are looking to employ a self motivated individual to work as part of the Domestic Team.


The successful applicant will be expected to work in all areas, including corridors, entrances, toilets, clinic rooms, admin areas and must be able to work alone or as part of a team, to work flexible hours including bank holidays, and to move across sites.


This is predominantly work from Monday to Friday, but flexibility will be required to cover other shifts either on or other site.


To provide a high quality domestic service throughout the designated area/service, maintaining a clean and safe environment that assists in ensuring a positive service user experience and reflects the values of the organisation.


Responsible for providing high standards of cleanliness to a designated area/service under the supervision of the domestic supervisor, including the safe use of mechanical and electrical equipment following appropriate training.


At SSL, we work in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT), to deliver facilities management, transport and other support services to over 50 sites across the West Midlands.

Our team keeps expanding and since our establishment, in 2012, we have grown rapidly though the acquisition of new sites and services.

Finance:


  • Responsible for the correct usage of chemicals and sundries to help with departmental budget costs

Training:


  • Complete all E-Learning prior to appointment of job role
  • Attend Corporate 3day induction
  • Buddy up with current staff member for 2 weeks to learn job role

Job Role:


  • Responsible for the safe and effective delivery of the cleaning service and to ensure the maintenance of all hygiene standards within a designated area/service and all facilities.
  • Ensuring that the ward communal areas in particular dining areas are kept clean and presentable for service users.
  • Ensure close liaison and interfacing with the clinical staff to ensure there is a coordinated approach to the delivery of the Domestic services.
  • Undertake scheduled enhanced or any adhoc cleaning tasks as required.
  • Ensuring that all domestic consumables are replenished in the appropriate dispenser/holder.
  • Assist with the curtain change programme where appropriate
  • Responsible for ensuring that all required cleaning tasks have been undertaken competently to ensure that SSL performs well in internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for ensuring any complaints received are relayed to the Supervisor and any adjustments or corrective actions are implemented.
  • Follow cleaning schedules for all daily or weekly duties and signoff all cleaning tasks when completed.
  • To be flexible when required to assist other sites when required

Health & Safety:


  • To be responsible for utilising safely mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment following appropriate training as required.
  • Uphold all Infection Prevention and Control measures as required within SSL.
  • Assist with the curtain change programme where appropriate

  • Report the need for any estate's maintenance requests to the Supervisor.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and liaising with the Supervisor to develop those improvements.
  • Completion of all water running sheets for all water outlets throughout all designated areas.
