Description
Job Purpose
The Serious Violence Duty requires multiple changes to the way local authorities and partnerships tackle Serious Violence including strengthening partnership working, increasing training opportunities, creating an updated Needs Assessment, and re-visiting action plans.
The work will require partnership working with services including Children Services, Public Health, Probation, and Education.The postholder will work to assist in preparing and implementing the duties and responsibilities of the Serious Violence Duty and ensuring that Richmond and Wandsworth continue to maintain a strong partnership towards tackling serious violence.
SpecificResponsibilities:
- Support the Serious Violence Manager in delivering on the Serious Violence Duty and its requirements.
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure awareness of the new Duty and compliance with and effective delivery of the new duty requirements.
- Maintain a strong relationship with key partners to ensure the delivery of the Duty such as Children Services, Public Health, Probation, Education, and others.
- Support the Serious Violence Manager with any relevant needs assessments to be carried out on a local level with regards to the Serious Violence Duty responsibilities.
- Assist in the set-up and administration of the Richmond Violence Reduction Delivery Group. Administrate and organise meetings. Ensure meetings run smoothly, agendas and minutes are circulated in a timely manner, and organisations are aware of the objectives and expected outcomes of the delivery group.
- Ensuring clear tracking and maintenance of the Wandsworth Violence and Vulnerability Action Plan. Including having oversight of actions with relevant partners, collecting updates and ensuring the actions and requirements of the Action Plan are maintained.
- Review and maintain Richmond Violence and Vulnerability Action Plan. Meet with relevant partners to ensure actions are on track for completion by the end of the financial year. Review and revise actions as needed with support of Serious Violence Manager.
- Oversee all awareness raising and communications in relation to the Serious Violence Duty responsibilities across the partnership.
- Develop and deliver training and briefing sessions to a range of Richmond and Wandsworth practitioners on the new duty and how to effectively respond to Serious Violence.
- To provide specialist advice, develop action plans, briefing papers, respond to requests for information and enquiries, relative to the role and the Duty.
