Credit Controller (Maternity Cover - 18 month Contract)

Location - Cookstown / Burton Gateway

Purpose of the Job

Be a part of the Credit Control Team to ensure that:

  • The Credit Control function is "Best in Class"
  • Revenue collection is maximised in line with terms
  • Customer accounts are managed in line with agreed processes and terms
  • Effective and proactive debt recovery procedures are being operated
  • Monthend tasks and reporting requirements are being delivered accurately and on time
  • Process improvements are identified and implemented to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness
  • Credit control and debt recovery related support is provided to relevant departments to facilitate business growth.
Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Ensure that all sales invoices/credit notes/refunds are processed accurately, on time and in accordance with accepted revenue recognition principles
  • Ensure that credit notes and refunds are authorised in accordance with Keylite policies
  • Ensure that all supporting documentation is uploaded to Microsoft Navision and attached to the relevant transactions using the appropriate naming conventions
  • Ensure that Keylite's credit control procedures reflect best practice and secure ontime cash collection, recommending changes and improvements to secure improved collections and performance
  • Ensure that Keylite's credit management policies are consistently applied to the assessment of potential customers and the periodic reviews of existing customers
  • Process customer payments on receipt and ensure that they are allocated correctly and in full
  • Ensure that credit notes/refunds and rebates are allocated correctly at the earliest opportunity
  • Engage positively to achieve successful settlements where disputes arise, for all parties ensuring adherence to the contractual terms of trading
  • Generate monthly statements and issue to customers
  • Work with other members of the Keylite Team to ensure that the sales ledger accurately reflects the outstanding and collectible balances on customer accounts at any point in time
  • Ensure that appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are implemented and achieved to secure performance and deliver continuous improvement
  • Participate in and/or lead projects designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Credit Control function
  • Participate and present in monthly finance team meeting
  • Ensure monthend tasks and reporting requirements are delivered accurately and within deadlines
  • Weekly reporting to Credit Control Manager
Other Duties

  • Ensure a safe working environment abiding by all necessary health and safety requirements and legislation

  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to all information pertaining to Keylite's operations
  • Manage relationships with existing customers, contractors, other professionals, suppliers and staff
  • Comply with Keylite's policies and procedures at all times
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure that decisions made by the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team are actioned within agreed timescales
  • Participate in training and development opportunities provided by the company
  • Ensure a flexible approach to working hours to fulfil the requirements of the post and meet project deadlines
  • Be prepared to travel to and between sites as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the post and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications and Core Skills

  • Commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers
  • Strong IT skills (including extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Unquestionable professional ethics and integrity
  • Ability to proactively resolve daytoday operational issues and to effect process improvements
  • Strong organisational skills in terms of work planning and time management
  • Ability to lead from the front and work as a member of a team to meet demanding deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence
Experience

Essential

  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Navision or equivalent
  • Proven experience of managing multicurrency sales ledgers
  • Proven record of delivering effective control over customer accounts, with mínimal supervision, whilst adhering to strict deadlines
Desirable

  • Credit Control certification
