We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for
Apprenticeship Officer to join our Apprenticeships team.

You will join us on a full-time hours, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £33,101 - £35,899 pa inc London Weighting


The Apprenticeship Officer role:


This role is pivotal in the success of BDC Apprenticeship programmes and for supporting Apprentices and employers on their journey with the College.

You will work as part of the Apprenticeship team contributing towards recruitment, retention, achievement and funding targets supporting each other in this busy department.


You will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices from Level 2 and above ensuring all aspects of the apprenticeship programme are well managed and all contractual requirements are fully met.

You will be the main point of contact for employers and apprentices.

Your role will also be responsible for working with Apprenticeship Managers to ensure all aspects of apprenticeship delivery conforms to Apprenticeship Standards, ESFA Funding rules, Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and internal and external audit requirements.


Key Responsibilities of our Apprenticeship Officer:

  • Participate in the marketing of new and existing provision and to attend college and curriculum area open events to promote growth
  • Take part in the recruitment, interviewing and assessment of potential apprentices, including internal progressions of class based learners and provide information and guidance on apprenticeship programmes
  • Organise and undertake the sign up of new apprentices working with Trainer Coaches, employer and apprentice to ensure all parties are aware of the requirements of the apprenticeship in line with relevant funding and audit guidance

Our ideal Apprenticeship Officer should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Training or teaching qualification or a willingness to undertake a qualification (Teaching, training & assessing learning L
  • Mentoring and Coaching qualification at L3 or a willingness to undertake a qualification
  • Maths and English qualification Level
  • Experience in being responsible for own workload, diary management and working independently to tight schedules
  • Experience in delivering briefing sessions and presentations
