The school is looking for a to start in
January 2023. This is a long-term position potentially leading to employment by the school. Full training will be provided.


ABOUT THE ROLE


The core purpose of this post is to report directly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, or in their absence, the Headteacher, to be the lead professional in the Safeguarding Team together with supporting the Attendance and Data Officer.

The role encompasses all aspects of Safeguarding including child protection, e-safety, safe working practices, staff training etc.

  • Support the DSL in the leadership and management of Safeguarding throughout the school ensuring a safe environment for pupils to develop and learn.
  • Help to ensure that safeguarding is at the heart of the school ethos and all staff are supported in their knowledge of safety and safeguarding
  • Assist the DSL in working in partnership with outside agencies to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all pupils at the school.
  • To help build links and work in partnership with parents, carers and professionals to promote the wellbeing of the children and young people in the care of the school
  • With the DSL, support families through effective engagement of services and resourcing
  • Assist the DSL to manage the safeguarding systems and keep all records up to date
  • To support the Attendance and Data officer with administration with day to day
- duties especially where safeguarding and welfare is concerned

  • With the support of the attendance and Data Officer maintain pupil files ensuring that they are all up to date
  • Carry out management requests as required commensurate with pay grade.

ABOUT YOU

  • A core understanding of safeguarding in an education setting
  • Thorough and current knowledge of safeguarding processes, policies and procedures and will demonstrate a clear understanding of achieving compliance
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, that enable you to foster relationships with students, staff, families, external agencies and partnerships
  • A commitment to enriching and improving the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and to working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • A commitment to professional development
  • Meticulous attention to detail, and excellent administrative skills
  • A commitment to the values of the school and to the students in our care
