What does your typical day look like?


Accountable for day to day Site production scheduling and in-bound material supply, in support of delivering 98.5% Finished Goods Customer Service level, with minimised surplus and obsolete materials.


As Site Planning Lead, represent the wider Customer Supply Planning at Site Factory Management Team meetings and lead and develop the Site based Supply & Materials Planning Team.


Key responsibilities:

  • Accountability for day to day Site production scheduling and inbound material supply to deliver 98.5% Finished goods Customer Service level.
  • Lead and develop the Site Supply & Materials Planning Team, ensuring that development plans, 121s, career plans and challenging objectives are in place.
  • Represent the wider Customer Supply Planning Team at Factory Management Team meetings, with active participation.
  • Maximise the expediting of Site material/supply issues, liaising across sites where appropriate, before escalation to Head of Supply Planning and Procurement.
  • Work closely with Procurement to establish material supplier reviews and reporting of material supplier KPIs.
  • Own and drive a Continuous Improvement and collaboration culture for Site Supply & Materials Planning, identifying and delivering new opportunities to drive service up and cost out.
  • Develop analytics, KPIs and reporting that supports continuous improvement of Site Planning.
  • Working with other Site Leads to ensure best practice is shared and implemented across Sites.
  • People efficiency (training & development).
  • Influence operations partners to create clear direction for Site whilst balancing the requirements of Head Office.
  • Be a conduit for information and a change agent /champion

What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

  • Commercially aware and a proven experience of supply/materials management.
  • Experience of working in the FMCG sector would be advantageous.
  • Intimate knowledge and experience of operating with SAP or other MRP/ERP systems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft packages specifically Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and aptitude.
  • Able to gather, manipulate and interpret data; solve problems, predict trends; and establish priorities.
  • Strong decision making ability in situations where there is ambiguity.
  • A team player with good planning and organising skills, able to meet deadlines with quality output.
