    Electrical Test Engineer / Approved Electrician

    Bainbridge is a leading electrical engineering company based in Kendal, on the edge of the stunning English Lake District. With expertise ranging from electrical installation to control systems and fire and security, Bainbridge is a dynamic, multi-discipline company providing high-quality service and support.

    Due to our continued success and increasing demand for our services, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Test engineer.

    • Manage the Electrical team, including regular meetings and appraisals.
    • Attend and estimate electrical jobs, including installations, testing, remedial work, and repairs.
    • Prepare tender packages and produce quotations for new works, electrical testing, and additional work on existing projects.
    • Manage and schedule projects with subcontractors and in-house labor.
    • Manage electricians and subcontractors and address any site queries.
    • Maintain Quality, Health and Safety on site.

    The role requires running multiple electrical projects successfully while meeting defined timescales and quality standards in an organized manner.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including Health and Safety on electrical work, producing risk assessments and method statements.
    • Produce and/or sign off electrical test sheets or documentation required on the work.
    • Deliver Electrical works on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
    • Assist with site commercial and technical queries.
    • Prepare quotes for additional works and new work.
    • Ensure all site documentation is completed (test sheets, point of work risk assessments, electrical permits, etc.).
    • Issue final documents to the client (drawings, certificates, O&M manuals).
    • Work with NICEIC qualifying supervisors to ensure best practice on installations, maintaining the company's high standards.
    • An appetite to learn new skills working on industrial installations, control systems, and instrumentation.
    • The ability to carry out testing on electrical installations and correctly record results for electrical certification.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Level 3 City and Guilds Electrical Technical Certificate.
    • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations.
    • City and Guilds 2391 Test and Inspection Qualification.
    • A current valid JIB/ECS card.
    • Previous experience in the water industry is beneficial but not essential.

    Your salary will be based on your qualifications and experience.

    • Normal working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
    • Overtime paid at time and a half during the week and before 12pm Saturday, with double time paid Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
    • Travel paid at hourly rate.
    • Company vehicle for commuting to and from work.

    • Annual Bonus Scheme.

    This is a full-time position with flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
