Overview of project/role:


  • Undertake maintenance planning (planning horizon 1 week 3 years) to enable maintenance delivery teams to meet LUL's statutory and corporate programmes for inspection, maintenance and repair of assets. Ensure optimal use of resources, materials and access to achieve plans.
  • Maintain the integrity of maintenance and work management information in asset management information systems.
  • Request and plan access for authorised persons to conduct routine preventative and corrective maintenance economically and efficiently on the railway.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders as required and advise relevant parties of errors which may compromise delivery or result in frustrated access so they may be corrected in a timely manner. Provide a coordination role on behalf of Asset Operations in respect to nonoperations activities which affect access for asset maintenance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver accurate planning information to time and quality, aligned to business objectives and utilising the functionality provided by the corporate asset management systems.
  • Schedule asset management data to produce weekly work packages and short term schedules and 3 year plans for the allocated work groups, in liaison with appropriate Maintenance Delivery Managers or external equivalents. Instructing operational delivery teams on work plans on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Plan corrective work order and monitor progress in consultation with the Maintenance Delivery Managers to ensure suitable visibility and active management of all corrective work and raise all appropriate routine and annual maintenance WOs.
  • Working with Strategy, Project, Engineering and Asset Teams, develop longer term, 13 year maintenance plans.
  • Support regular planning meetings that produce agreed maintenance plans (1 week 3 year) for delivery.
  • Quantify and requisition spares, materials and services for planned preventative and corrective work, adding materials to work orders as required. Liaise with materials colleagues to confirm correct specifications and bills of materials.
  • Manage fault work orders generated via incident or fault notifications.
  • Issuing of agreed work packages to appropriate delivery units (internal or external) according to work flow processes.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of asset information within corporate asset management systems, analyse the completeness of data and report on quality through the appropriate channels.
  • Produce, own and distribute plans to provide visibility of access requirements to delivery teams for maintenance.
  • Request and maintain the access required to deliver routine and corrective maintenance via central access systems, reporting exceptions to the Planning Lead. Highlight / assist in resolving access clashes. Maximise access opportunities.
  • Support conference calls and meetings regarding access allocation. Report on frustrated access. Check access publications. Monitoring closures, identifying opportunities for maintenance and negotiating access for delivery teams.
  • Maintain filing process for signed maintenance documentation archiving of records and their retention to LUL timelines.
  • Responsible for the timely production of maintenance management reports, (daily, weekly, period and annual).
  • Deputise for Planning Leads.
  • Be proactive in identifying and delivering improvements to the planning and delivery process.
