Think Accountancy and Finance have just finished a meeting a client who is looking for someone who is not afraid to prove themselves in a role.

They need someone who is able to work in a fast paced environment, manage change and show endless enthusiasm witha hunger to learn.


You will need to understand a Balance Sheet as well have experience of reconciliations and an understanding of Debits and Credits.

You will have worked in a finance role and perhaps assisted with management accounts but the client is open to someone whois studying ACCA or CIMA but equally happy to meet people who have not started their studies.

This role is paying a salary of £30-£40,000 based on experience and stage of your career. It has hybrid working in place with their office in Watford.

As you grow into the role you will take on the below responsibilities:

  • Processing month end journals in line with monthly timetable
  • Ensuring all intercompany accounts agree monthly
  • Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Reconciliation of weekly Gross Margin figures to the Finance System
  • Assisting with the weekly financial reporting
  • Calculation of commissions on a monthly basis
  • Providing analysis on actual variances to budgeted figures
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Assist with Audits and Budgets upon request

Desirable experience:

  • Previous management accounts experience within a busy environment however this role is open to people who have supported or not had the opportunity to complete
  • Working in a fastpaced department
  • Ability to build effective relationships with line managers and employees in all levels of the business
  • IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional, confident and 'can do' attitude.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). This is essential as you will meet with clients both internally and externally to discuss financial reports
  • Ability to work confidentially at all times
  • Time Management
