Reed Finance are pleased to be exclusively partnered with our client, an Essex based insurance brokers, to assist in the recruitment of a new Financial Accounts Manager.

Reporting into the Finance Director and responsible for a Financial Accounts Assistant,this role will play a vital role in the management of financial accounts for the business and oversee the preparation of management accounts.

The Financial Accounts Manager will work closely with budget holders across the business, as well as the group finance function.

A few key responsibilities:

Oversee key financial accounting activities within the business, supporting the Financial Accounts Assistant to ensure all relevant tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
Work closely with the Finance Director to maintain detailed cash flow forecasts and analysis
Coordinate the monthend process ensuring that the month end accounting checklist is completed and signed off.
In conjunction with the Financial Accounts Assistant, ensure the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations of accruals and prepayments in accordance with month end accounting checklist, and prepare accounting journals as required for approval to agreedtimetable.
Prepare monthly management accounts to agreed timetable
Prepare detailed monthly cost analysis and other information for key managers and budget holders to ensure that they are supported to ensure that they achieve their agreed budgets or forecasts.
Provide additional analysis and reconciliations at the financial year end to ensure the finalisation of the P&L and balance sheet of the company.

A few key requirements:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
Previous experience as a senior financial accountant. It would be advantageous if this included roles within an insurance broking business
Previous experience in managing and controlling financial accounting records
Experience of the Sage accounting system (ideally Sage 200) would be a strong advantage
Strong attention to detail and technical skills within financial accounting
