I have an opportunity for a
Case Study Officer to join my client, a public sector organisation who are tasked with running a public inquiry.

This role is a contract basis for 23 months.

The Offices and Public Hearings Venue are based in central Edinburgh.

There is a hybrid approach to the role with the possibility of working remotely up to two days per week.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Inquiry's records and evidence management system (Nuix Discover (Nuix))
  • Using the workflow feature within Nuix, draw down and complete coding assignments using a predefined coding template, assessing/analysing and updating key information about the documents in the assignment
  • Produce regular reports using the reporting tools within Nuix Discover
  • Assist the case study leads / senior analysts with the release of documents to external stakeholders
  • Undertake a variety of tasks on request, such as creating and uploading extracts of larger documents to Nuix Discover; Watermarking and password protecting documents for sharing with external parties using Adobe Acrobat; and creating and managing shared workspaces using Objective Connect, the Inquiry's approved file sharing platform
  • Adhere to data protection legislation and the Inquiry's policies, particularly any Restriction Orders issued by the Chair
  • Assist with mapping Inquiry processes and drafting clear, wellstructured guidance documents, whilst ensuring that these guidance documents remain up to date at all times

Skills and experience required:


  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and concisely with senior colleagues both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent IT skills, including the ability to quickly learn how to operate new software
  • Proven experience of working autonomously, under pressure and to tight timelines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of current legislation regarding data protection.
