If so, we want you to join our Geo-Environmental team in London


Based in our office a stone's throw from Borough Market in the heart of Southwark's thriving Bankside, our welcoming and diverse team are working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in the UK and across the world.

From sustainability-focused offices and commercial premises to cutting-edge healthcare facilities and from award-winning education schemes to major new residential communities, we are supporting schemes across a huge range of sectors.


As a Consultant you will be involved in real projects from day one, with exposure to some of the most prestigious schemes in the UK.

We encourage and develop our staff and provide them with a varied workload and the autonomy to work individually, as well as giving them the opportunity to make a valued contribution to the team.

Reporting to your Line Manager, you will support them in delivering projects effectively to agreed deadlines, whilst maintaining technical performance standards.


Although we're happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you'll ideally have qualifications, experience or skills in the following areas:

  • Supporting the Project Manager and team to ensure projects are delivered effectively on budget and on time;
  • Undertaking design, management, supervision and reporting of geoenvironmental assignments including (but not limited to): desk studies, ground investigations (factual and interpretative), human health, groundwater and gas risk assessments and preparation of remediation strategies;
  • Completing fieldwork (rain or shine) including site inspections (desk study walkovers), supervision of ground investigation works, groundwater and ground gas monitoring, monitoring remediation works;
  • Appointment and management of subcontractors in undertaking site works;
  • Review Ground Investigation Factual Data including geological logs and laboratory data:
 Providing clients with geo-environmental advice and assistance as required on an ad hoc basis and negotiate and liaise with relevant regulatory authorities (Environment Agency, Local Authority, NHBC etc.) as necessary;

  • Assisting the Project Manager with project finances and invoicing;
  • Ensure that technical performance standards are maintained on projects you are involved in;
  • Support the development and provision of technical work in your areas of expertise; and
  • Always adhere to Health and Safety requirements.
  • Have a good level of understanding of contaminated land risk assessment including development of the conceptual site model;
  • Have a basic level of understanding of geotechnical testing;
  • Have a basic level of understanding of writing ground conditions chapters for Environmental Statements as part of an Environmental Impact Assessment;
  • A good working knowledge of appropriate British Standards, Eurocodes, Industry Guidance and NHBC Standards
  • The drive and selfmotivation to continuously develop your technical and behavioural skills;
  • Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and to be able to build and develop relationships, both internally and externally;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and meet project deadlines;
