The Role


We are currently looking for a Maintenance/Handy Person to join our team based in the south side of Glasgow to support in the general facilities PPM and reactive maintenance activities across the site including daily administrative support in the office.


This is predominantly a Monday to Friday days-based role with some out of hours work required to meet business needs.

The successful applicant will be the primary point of contact for all general maintenance and repair across the factory.

They will be working alongside the in-house facilities team as well as our trusted external partners to ensure the continued smooth running of our factory.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Forward planning of PPM activities ensuring adequate allocation of resources are available ahead of works.
  • Support all works within the CAFM System, prioritise, plan and implement repairs.
  • Support all office activities, admin/document control and purchase orders.
  • Support all contractor works, signing in/out, permits, certifications, H&S monitoring, ensure contractors are carrying out their works in line with the RAMS.
  • Daily management of the Fire and Intruder System, Weekly Testing, isolations and fault reporting etc.
  • Adhere to and continuously improve on safety practices for all activities that are carried out.
  • Working with the team and taking direction from the departmental manager to ensure efficient and effective working.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of all equipment within the plant and facilities.
  • Maintain and replenish stock list of critical parts and sundries ensuring compatibility of products where appropriate.

Essential/Desirable Qualifications and Experience:


Essential

  • Experience of general site maintenance to a PPM program.
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing, joinery and general repair disciplines.
  • Experience with Fire and Intruder Systems, weekly testing & isolations etc.
  • Display effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • IT literate.
  • Participate in and understand Continuous Improvements activities, knowledge of 5S or lean principles is advantageous.
  • Be flexible, dependable, and willing to compromise and work alongside the needs of other colleagues and contractors.

Desirable

  • IPAF, or equivalent certificate
  • PASMA
  • Forklift Truck certificate

£12.32-£14.79 per hour
