We have consistently set ourselves apart from our competitors in the flexible packaging market by developing and improving on material specifications, ink usage and, more recently, developing compostable and more sustainable packaging solutions.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a
Site Buyer to closely support the production processes at our Dundee site.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Sourcing and buying materials, engineering and site consumables;
  • Negotiating, preparing and finalising contracts with suppliers, Including energy and telecoms ensuring complacence with company policy and in line with company objectives.
  • Building market intelligence on products procured to develop and improve purchasing strategy.
  • Invoice matching and authorisation.
  • Developing good working practice and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with SEPA and BRC standards;
  • Planning and developing new and improved sources of supply for current and future needs, ensuring robust supply chains are maintained.
  • Working with external agencies to ensure all imports are customs cleared in a timely manner.
  • Producing monthly management reports on stock usage and price movements;
  • Submitting and negotiating supplier claims;
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to manage goods, materials, movement and storage according to stock levels;
  • Manage stock levels including stock taking.
  • Maintain system data including pricing.
  • Maintaining and building the business relationships across key suppliers;
  • Monitoring supplier performance and escalating problems to relevant departments.

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree or other recognised qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • A CIPS qualification or studying towards would be advantageous but not essential.

Experience

  • Previous buying / procurement experience is essential.
  • Previous background in the food and packaging markets is desirable.
  • Competent IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are essential.

This position is permanent and full-time based on 36 hours per week hrs Monday to Thursday, hrs on Fridays).

Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience. Other benefits include 34 days' holiday and contributory pension scheme.
