_Housekeeping Assistant_

We are looking for housekeepers to join our team at Mount Rooms Hotel, Barry. You should be positive, enthusiastic and have excellent attention to detail.

The working hours will be part time any days between Monday - Sunday 10:00 - 14:00 on a rota basis.

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

To sweep, mop and polish floors
To vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies
To dust and polish furniture and fittings
To clean metal fixtures and fittings
To dispose of rubbish in a sanitary manner
To clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
To wipe down glass surfaces
To make up beds and change linens as required
To wash windows as scheduled
To maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
To monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements

In addition to general housekeeping tasks the housekeeper duties in a hotel or similar environment will include:

To clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators and lounges as well as guest rooms
To distribute linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand
To restock room supplies such as drinking glasses, shampoos, teas and coffees
To replace dirty linens with clean items
To inspect and turn mattresses regularly
To store all dirty laundry in line with company policy
To check all appliances in rooms are in working order
To realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
To organise and restock cart at the end of the shift
To ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms
To follow all company safety and security procedures
To report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
To observe and report damage of hotel property

Knowledge and Experience
- knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods
- knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials
- physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
- ability to lift, push and pull required load
- you must be IT literate and able to use a smartphone
