General Maintenance Person - Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom - Stowlangtoft Estate

This role is based at the stunning Stowlangtoft Estate near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

As the Estate's Maintenance Person, you are fundamental to the smooth running of the holiday homes every day for our guests.

In addition, you are responsible for general maintenance of a range of commercial and agricultural buildings, as well as the estate grounds, roads, etc.

You will work with the support of the Office Coordinator and will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of the properties in relation to plumbing, electrical, general equipment, decorating and carpentry and will be responsible for the regular testing and recording of fire and lighting systems.

You will complete outdoor landscaping and gardening tasks such as grass cutting, carpark and roadway maintenance.

External contractors will be called in for larger jobs, overseen by yourself and the Office Coordinator, but you should feel confident to complete everyday tasks yourself.

You will be on call for any emergencies out of hours and will receive TOIL for any call outs.


The skills you'll need
You will feel comfortable in painting and decorating, small-scale plumbing and electrical works and have good general maintenance skills.

You will be happy to support the Stowlangtoft Estate team in keeping the holiday homes, long term let property and commercial and agricultural buildings safe and compliant.

You will have an excellent attendance record and take a proactive approach to drive up standards.
