Senior IT Business Partner - Clinical Supply Chain

About the role


The Senior Business Partner/Business Analyst will use their IT expertise, bio-pharma industry trends and in-depth understanding of AZ business priorities to lead the functional/capability IT strategy development, investment planning, and delivery.

The role will develop strategic relationships with the SET/ SET -1 areas and global Business Process Owners and identify ways for IT to partner with them in achieving and exceeding business objectives.

This role will will drive the delivery of innovative business solutions to create maximum competitive advantage.

The role will be responsible for the successful delivery of programs, projects, and products


Key Accountabilities

Business Partner Accountabilities

  • Provide thought through leadership & innovation to enable enhanced SET performance by managing groundbreaking projects across functions or Internationally in own field of specialism, aligned to AZ IT strategy and working with AZ IT partners.
  • Partner for SET business strategy development, providing tech lens and translating/delivering business priorities and exceeding business objectives.
  • Define the SET area technology direction and strategy. Input to and influence AZ IT strategy
  • Support collation and prioritisation of BTG portfolio, balancing SET area priorities and BTG/AZ IT principles and governance
  • Agreement of SET area IT strategy, portfolio, business cases & outcomes
  • Main point of contact for SET/ SET 1 for significant service tracking/issues/problems/incidents
  • Drive IT satisfaction, ROI and TCO improvements
  • Member of SET area LT (where applicable)
  • Drive and lead delivery of accountable area IT strategy, portfolio, cases & outcomes
  • Hands on leadership of major programmes and 'projects' delivery, accountable for critical outcomes
  • Develop strategic relationships with BTG/C4E colleagues to identify/deliver solutions that enable business objectives
  • Lead Ideation, Innovation, and MVPs to continually improve and/or transform SET/SET1 area.
  • Lead data, analytics, and AI use cases relevant to SET/SET1 area, collaborating with the DAAI team.

Business Analyst Accountabilities

  • Strategically lead design sessions with the implementation team.
  • Hands on leadership, planning, coordination, and delivery of groundbreaking project across functions or Internationally in own field of specialism.
  • Drive the collation of information from relevant sources for analysis and reporting relevant data trends for informed decision making for major positive business impact.
  • Communicate and advise at a high level with the relevant partners using high level of interactive communication to set clear direction for the team

Work multi-functionally with:


  • Business & IT leadership teams and other senior partners to build their understanding of IT strategy, programmes and challenges
  • IT Strategy, Architecture, Portfolio Management and Project/Programme Management to agree the future shape of proposed solutions and initiate projects in partnership
  • OpsIT Capability and Region Teams to create alignment and identify crossbusiness innovative opportunities
  • Business analysts to manage requirements and build arguments
  • Portfolio Managers and solution delivery leads to initiate projects, to initiate projects, clearly define scope and monitor the delivery of project value compared to the promised benefits
  • Solution and Service delivery, DAAI and Operational Excellence to ensure business expectations are fulfilled

Essential skills & Experience

  • Rich experience of biopharma industry with solid understanding and background in Commercial Supply Chain
  • Experience of identification and implementation of innovative technology solutions
  • Evidence of leading and developing innovative solutions
  • A proven track record of delivering results
  • Experience of building high value business cases & mobilising high value investments
  • Experience of leading teams with a demonstrable track record of motivational and achievement oriented leadership
  • Experience of managing third party suppliers and have strong network and consulting skills
  • Experience in Clinical Supply Chain
  • Experience of systems eg SAP APO / SAP Intelligent Clinical Supply Chain Management / OMP
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Demonstrate strong relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
