Aquatic Engineering & Construction; part of Acteon Group, is a global leader in laying and retrieving flexible and semi rigid products from the seabed in support of the renewables, oil and gas and telecommunications markets.

The company has proven ability in shallow / deep water, and extensive experience of off and onshore installations, transpooling, recovery and decommissioning.

Aquatic are recruiting for a
Workshop Supervisor to join the team on a
full time, permanent basis.


Based in
South View Place, Peterhead, the Workshop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and activities at the Aquatic Workshop, at our Peterhead Operations facility.

You will will play a crucial role in managing the workflow, ensuring the smooth running of operations, and supervising a team of workers.


You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, meeting equipment maintenance and readiness for project requirements and targets, and ensuring quality standards are met.

This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members.

  • Supervise Workshop Operations: Oversee the daytoday activities in the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, and meeting production targets
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of workshop technicians or production workers, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and performance
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all products or outputs meet the required standards and specifications
  • Resource Planning: Coordinate and allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to ensure optimal utilization and timely completion of projects
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, conducting regular safety inspections and implementing corrective measures as necessary
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of workshop equipment and machinery, coordinating with relevant departments or external vendors when required
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and costeffectiveness
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage workshop inventory, including raw materials, spare parts, and tools, to ensure availability and minimize wastage
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels, and generate reports as required
  • Customer Service: Liaise with customers or internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, address concerns, and ensure timely delivery of products or services

Requirements:


  • Engineering
qualification in a Mechanical/Electrical or associated technical qualification at minimum ONC level. Or have gained suitable technical training & education, i.e. gained an apprenticeship or attended college, university in a technical capacity

  • Have demonstrated supervisory/leadership qualifications, skills and experience
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of control systems
  • Full understanding of PUWER and LOLER
  • Knowledge of equipment logistics
  • Knowledge of procurement principles and stock management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent time management with ability to prioritise and plan
