An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as an Engineering Team Coach/Maintenance Team Leader
About the role
The role is based at Jubilee Mail Centre and will consist of Late shifts. During the role you'll ensure that all relevant Health & Safety (H&S) Policy and guidelines are adhered to by maintenance teams whilst under their leadership
On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for providing proactive technical leadership, guidance and support for all engineering automation issues within the Mail Centre catchment area
You'll ensure engineering maintenance is completed to defined standards and is delivered by a competent engineering workforce in a cost-effective manner
You'll posess the ability to lead and co-ordinate the implementation of maintenance techniques to ensure that asset performance and reliability are achieved.
You'll provide and deliver technical training, coaching and development to the engineering maintenance team.
About You
You'll assist in the risk assessment process relating to automation equipment and ensure operational and Engineering Safe Systems of Work are accurate and available for all assets, ensure that maintenance teams work to Health & Safely Policy and guidelines
You'll provide technical support and guidance to the operational shift manager by leading the day-to-day delivery of maintenance services
You'll lead the timely implementations of approved modifications to ensure that the configuration status of hardware/ software and mechanical set up is up to date
You'll develop the engineering team on a day-to-day basis, providing support and advice, conducting annual Individual Performance Reviews. Challenge unacceptable behaviour, bullying and harassment within the engineering community
You'll provide, plan and deliver technical coaching and training within the workplace to maintenance engineers. Arranging via the Maintenance Team Leader (MTL) any training requirements that cannot be delivered locally
You'll provide effective and efficient support to the MTL and Engineering line manager by data gathering for end of shift reports, fault logging on the Maintenance Management System, root cause analysis and input to the Operational Mail Centre Shift Report
You'll have o-active involvement and attendance at improvement forums, performance and Shift Meetings. Making continuous use of data capture systems including briefing and encouraging engineers to drive positive outputs
You'll embrace Royal Mail's equality and fairness policy with regard to challenging unacceptable behaviour, bullying and harassment, by respecting and actively teamworking with colleagues, operators, team leaders and managers
You'll complete necessary tasks ensuring the integrity and reliability of automation assets, using central information sources e.g. Maintenance Management System, ADST Intranet and RME Help Desk
You'll promote and deploy a flexible approach to new equipment, systems and ways of working. This will involve integration with Operations to fulfil the aims and objectives of meetings/briefings and improvement forums
You'll lead the effective usage of automation spares, including the monitoring of data input and cost, through the extensive use of the inventory stock control system
You'll stimulating and channel energy, commitment and potential of highly skilled team members ensuring each individual contributes to enhancing team performance thus resulting in increased employee motivation and job satisfaction.
