Description

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant (apps and wearables for healthcare) to join the Biomedical Signal Processing & Machine Learning research group, in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, in the Department of Engineering Science (Headington).

The post is funded by the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre until 31 March 2024 initially, with strong possibility of renewal beyond this date.


By working with experts across clinical and data science, you will address priorities to respond to the needs of patients during the ongoing digital transformation of the NHS.

You will be responsible for (i) developing remote monitoring systems including wearable devices and mobile apps; (ii) developing and integrating algorithms for automatic analysis of data received at the backend; (iii) undertaking research into algorithms for detecting changes in patient vital signs likely to lead to clinical deterioration.

You will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in biomedical engineering, signal processing, or cognate disciplines. You should also possess expertise in biomedical engineering, software engineering, signal processing or other quantitative analysis methods.
