Job Summary:

The Formulation Lead is responsible for overseeing and directing a team engaged in various formulation processes, including ingredient mixing, machine operation, quality control, and sanitation within the production area.

This leadership role ensures that all formulation activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety standards.

The Formulation Lead also plays a key role in staff training, process optimisation, and coordination with the Shift Manager. They will also work closely with the NPD team

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Supervision: Manage and lead a team involved in the formulation, cooking, and quality control processes. Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices.

Process Oversight: Oversee the formulation processes to ensure consistency and quality in product batches. Ensure that procedures are followed meticulously and that all outputs meet the required specifications and quality standards. Collaborating with NPD in driving continuous improvement of operational processes for improved product quality.

Quality Assurance: Coordinate with Quality Control team to ensure that all products meet the desired standards. Address any deviations or issues identified during the QC processes.

Equipment Management: Supervise the operation and maintenance of production equipment, ensuring all machinery is in optimal working condition and any necessary repairs or adjustments are made promptly.

Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all formulation records, cleaning logs, and other necessary documentation are accurately maintained. Oversee the adherence to food safety regulations and compliance standards.

Safety and Hygiene: Promote and enforce strict safety and hygiene standards within the production area to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.

Working Hours:

Night shifts - Monday to Friday, 22:00 hrs - 06:30 hrs, 40 hours per week

Physical Requirements:

Lifting and Material Handling:

Capable of lifting and moving heavy materials as required in the production process in line with Manual Handling Regulations.

Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

Flexibility and Reach:
Capability to work in a factory setting, which may involve standing for long periods and handling various materials.

Physical stamina and strength to oversee operations and assist with manual tasks as needed.
