We are looking for talented Production Team Leader to become an integral part of our new, exciting, state-of-the-art net-zero factory with Ibstock Plc.

Join the Ibstock team, and take your place leading the way as an exemplar of British Manufacturing and global environmental best practice in the construction products sector.

Our new factory will be a pathfinder project, highly automated with significant investment having been made in some of the latest robotic innovations and it will be able to produce more than 100 million bricks every single year However, building the factory is only part of the story because in order to bring it to life, we need to find the very best people to work in it


JOB PURPOSE


As the Production Team Leader, you will be an inspirational leader of a multi-skilled team, who role models our core values at all times.

Delivering the highest standards of health and safety, sustainability, and quality, working with the Production Manager to optimise the potential of the production team, the raw material supply chain and the asset base, you will support the development of a culture focused on both sustainable and continuous improvement, where our people and process deliver exceptional performance.


ROLE OVERVIEW:


  • Reporting directly to the production manager
  • Managing and develop a team of 12 operators
  • Promote a safe working culture
  • Coordinate and lead tier 1 meetings
  • Update production data
  • Escalate production issues following company escalation process
  • Management of training matrixes
  • Carry out SSOP audits/reviews
  • Carry out risk assessments
  • Liaise with Engineering on downtime issues
  • Implement and sustain 5s techniques

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Promote a culture where the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues is the absolute priority.
  • Ensure all statutory obligations, company policies and procedures are understood and adhered to at all times.
  • Carry out safety checks.
  • Audit safety, quality and machine checks.
  • Assist in the development of Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Risk Assessments (RA).
  • Carry out Standard Safe Operating Procedure (SSOP) reviews.

Leadership

  • Act as a role model of Ibstock's values and behaviours.

Operational Excellence

  • Work with the factory team to implement the strategic plan for the site.
  • Managing and promoting the Ibstock Management System (IMS) to generate and facilitate continuous improvement practices across all areas of the manufacturing facility to optimise manufacturing capability.
  • Manage team training plans.
  • Ensure all relevant data is recorded accurately.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment to deliver the products required.
  • Carry out quality checks as required.
  • Carry out basic preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on plant and equipment as required.
  • Support development and training of new production operatives.
  • Management of company of company time and attendance system i:e absence reporting, holiday bookings

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Has a knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Is an outstanding team leader who is flexible, and meets challenge with a pragmatic and resilient approach
  • A natural coach and team builder with exceptional interpersonal skills who enjoys developing and leading others to improve their performance.
  • Can implement and drive performance improvement using Continuous Improvement tools & techniques.
  • Is able to use IT systems effectively.
