Rotheram Carrington Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with an entrepreneurial growing independent business based in the Crewe area who are seeking a Head of Finance to join their management team. This role will be a strong number 2 to the Financial Director and will be responsible for the leadership of a team of 10 in finance, and the overall performance of the finance function of a business turning over in the region of £80m to £100m.
My Client is ideally looking for a Head of Finance who is ambitious, pro-active and ahead of the game, always seeking better ways to improve processes and systems, and to build a great team both in experience and moral to support the rapid growth of this exciting journey.
This opportunity could either be an ambitious Number 2 who is really happy at this level, or in the future there could be the opportunity of stepping up in to the FD role.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead and mentor a finance department ensuring the team all understand the role they play in delivering high quality information to aid better business decision making
- Full production and review of month end accounting including consolidation, balance sheet accounting and reconciliation to P&L with commentary
- Responsible for the overall review of the transactional and invoicing team overseeing the completion and accurate input of information (high volume)
- Oversee and review of the payroll process for circa 85 employees
- Balance sheet reporting and reconciliation of the monthend process
- Proactively ensure the continuous compliance with regards to the financial control of the business adhering to all relevant Governing bodies and regulatory practices
- Responsible for the yearend process and all associated VAT & Tax submissions in line with HMRC
- Manage stakeholder relationships with oversees accounting partners
- Financial analysis with regards to various scenarios to determine and highlight opportunities and risk
- Ad hoc reporting for the CFO and Seniors Directors across the business
Experience/Skills
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, having trained in practice could be advantageous
- Previous experience running a finance function and managing a decent sized finance team ensuring high quality performance
- Excellent communication skills working across the business at all levels
- Strong financial control background essential
Salary/Benefits
- £55,000 to £75,000 per annum
- 25 days, plus bank holiday (increase with length of service)
- Hybrid working is available once probation period is completed and the successful individual has a good understanding of the business
