    Overview

What we are looking for in you

As an Adult Housing Support Worker in Minehead, you will play a key role in helping people achieve their personal goals, maintain their independence, and feel valued and respected.

We are looking for someone who:

    • Puts people first – You treat everyone with dignity, respect, and empathy.
    • Communicates authentically and truthfully – You can listen actively and communicate effectively with Customers, Managers, Colleagues & Partner agencies.
    • Is patient and understanding – You take time to build trusting relationships and understand individual needs.
    • Is dependable and responsible – You show up when needed, keep your commitments, and follow through on your responsibilities.
    • Works well as part of a team – You collaborate with others and value shared goals.
    • Is flexible and adaptable – You can respond calmly and professionally to changing situations.
    • Values inclusion and diversity – You respect differences and promote equality in all that you do.
    • Has a positive attitude – You bring energy, encouragement, and a can-do approach to your work.
    • Is willing to learn – You are open to training and personal development to improve the support you provide.

Previous experience is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, values, and willingness to support others.

If you're ready to make a real impact and facilitate transformative change, we look forward to receiving your application.

The shift pattern for this role consists of 8am - 4pm, 12pm - 8pm to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

Whilst there are systems in place to support you, a substantial part of the role includes the ability to lone work. Therefore, we require someone competent and confident when working alone and somebody who is able to understand and work with complex and challenging behaviours, appropriately.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and young people. We follow a safer recruitment process; all appointments are subject to an Enhanced DBS check and are required to provide two suitable references.
