This is an exciting opportunity to join IP&I as part of the Workplace Platform.

As a platform we have an ambitious goal to reach over £100bn AuA and 4.5m customers by 2025 which we will achieve by putting customers, employers and advisers at the centre of everything we do.

Our priorities are delivering personalised customer engagement, digitisation and simplification of our technology and processes which will in turn will allow us to deliver great experiences and outcomes for our customers.


Reporting to the Workplace Business Platform Lead, this role has overall accountability for the Workplace Pensions Proposition of Scottish Widows across our full product offering (GPP, GSIPP, OMP and Master Trust).

You will be responsible for using market and customer insight to set the workplace proposition strategy and partner with lab leads on development of digital enhancements as well as major programmes and FNZ to deliver changes to the platform.

The role will also involve working with colleagues in IS&E to shape the investment proposition for workplace,


You will develop and own the overall proposition roadmap to market, shaping and delivering key messages to our distribution teams and the market.

You will have overall accountability for aligning the Workplace Platform with the principles of consumer duty and a rigorous product management and governance frameworks to ensure we meet customer needs.

Location & ways of working

Most of the team is based in Edinburgh and Barnwood, but we are flexible on location.


We are happy to consider options for agile working with an expectation to be in one of the Group's offices a minimum of two days a week.

You will be able to manage complex stakeholder networks leveraging internal networks to deliver change, and utilising and building your external networks to build the profile and understanding of the Workplace Pensions Proposition.

Your execution plan will deliver for members, which will help us to achieve significant growth in AuM through the acquisition of new clients and retention of existing business.

What would you get involved with?

  • Developing and implementing products which meet customers' needs and develop new products which enhance the contribution the Group makes to the UK Insurance industry.
  • Ownership of product specification and ownership regulated product design.
  • Delivering the Group's Conduct Strategy by ensuring products and services deliver fair customer outcomes and alignment to the principles of Consumer Duty.
  • Helping to develop and implementing the Workplace Proposition strategy and supporting vision to ensure the delivery of agreed business performance, working effectively with key partners in the Workplace Platform, the wider Insurance, Pensions and Investments business and appropriate partners in LBG.
  • Ensuring the delivery and implementation of the digitisation of ongoing scheme management for employers and employees.
  • Presenting on the Workplace roadmap and vision to distribution teams and externally at employer and adviser industry events.

And we'll need you to possess some of these specific skills...

  • A strong knowledge of Workplace pensions and regulatory landscape affecting our business.
  • A deep understanding of Consumer Duty principles would be valuable to help with implementation in 202
  • Detailed knowledge of the key elements of the proposition, including governance, digital, investment and retirement is preferrable.
