Job purpose
The Contract and Commercial Leader will take ownership of commercial aspects of contracts in the UK with a direct reporting line to the Head of Operations.
Duties and responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:
- Number one priority is a clear focus on QHSE ensuring a safety culture visible throughout the business.
- Embed and 'live' the company's vision, mission, values and behaviors.
- Prepare monthly and yearly analysis and data to be presented in reports, both to the clients and internally.
- Work closely with the Business Development team during competitive tender responses on commercial terms.
- Provide interpretation, strategy and contractual expertise in subcontract execution to internal stakeholders including terms of scope, obligations, rights and remedies in context or situation in the field.
- Coordinate and advise on internal compliance procedures and requests and guide stakeholders through the process.
- Provide support on contract matters to the Operations team, and other stakeholders in contracting practices and procedures, including customer and internal KPI monitoring.
- Expand and grow the additional service product portfolio actively sourcing future opportunities.
- Ensure any Additional Service process are managed to completion ie. invoiced correctly and in a timely manner.
- Maintain contractual records and documentation.
- Provide accurate and candid assessments of contractual risks and opportunities in execution and support operations team on claims management in connection with risks and opportunities. Including evaluation of claims and providing recommendations to Project Manager and other stakeholder functions.
- Support new sales agreement negotiations and preaward subcontracting sourcing efforts through "lessons learned" culture.
- Attend and participate in conferences and networking events.
- Develop and maintain effective professional working relationship with all stakeholders.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Requirements
- Bachelor degree (commercial, engineering, or similar) would be an advantage or relevant experience.
- 3 years+ of directly related experience in all phases of Onshore subcontract administration and management and working knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
- Knowledge of the energy supply sector is advantageous
- Legal and commercial awareness
Personal competencies:
- Skilled oral and written communication skills with proven ability to prepare clear, concise and compelling written materials to variety of stakeholders with different levels of commercial and contractual familiarity.
- Proven capabilities in problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, commercial judgment and securing backtoback subcontracting provisions.
- Ability to plan, organise, prioritise various tasks, and complete assigned workload to meet multiple deadlines.
- Accurate and pragmatic approach to contract management and enforcement.
- Should be detail oriented.
- High proficiency with standard IT tools, including Microsoft Office, and comfort learning and using new internal IT platforms
