This is a fixed term post for 12 months (initially) with potential for extension to 30-months.

Working Hours within Mon-Fri 9am-5pm to be agreed on appointment


An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full-time Band 5 Assistant Psychologists to join a new NIHR-funded clinical trial: RAPID (Remote Approaches to Psychosocial Intervention Delivery).

The trial will test the effectiveness of different psychological interventions to reduce suicidal ideation in patients attending mental Health Crisis Teams.

You'll be responsible for the recruitment of participants into the trial, consent procedures and follow-up, in line with the study protocol, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist/ psychological therapist.

The posts are funded initially for 12-months and are likely to be extended to 36-months.

You'll be a psychology graduate with a 2.1 degree or above (BPS accredited), and have knowledge of evidence-based psychological approaches to suicidal ideation and knowledge of clinical trials methodology, You'll have experience of psychological research, have good general computing skills, basic analytic skills and experience of data entry, cleaning and organisation of files, and report writing.

And you'll be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively with colleagues in a clinical and research context.
You'll require the ability to travel between sites within NHS GG&C; this post requires a valid driving licence and access to own or other independent
means of transport, and flexibility to work some irregular hours occasionally to fit with participant availability.
