A specialist secondary SEND school for students with autism are looking for ABA Learning Support Assistants to join their school on a long-term contract basis from September.


The role
In this role you will be providing support to secondary aged students with autism.

You will be based in a class of 6 pupils and will provide assistance during a range of activities following Applied Behavioural Analysis and Verbal Behaviour techniques and approaches.

The classes will be led by qualified ABA supervisors and teachers and as a Learning Support Assistant you will be provided with training and guidance to implement and support students using ABA/VB techniques.

The school are looking for ABA Learning support assistants who have experience supporting children and young people with autism. Previous experience in ABA/VB is not essential, but an interest in learning more about these techniques is important.


The School


This small SEND school is based in West London over two sites and provides specialist teaching for both primary and secondary students with autism.

The school uses the science of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behaviour with each pupil receiving an individual learning programme, to develop communication and independence.

All pupils are part of a class group of 6 and in each class are 6 ABA tutors with a teacher/ABA supervisor as a lead.

They receive 1:1 individualised support as well as regular opportunities for group teaching, social play and generalisation throughout the day.

The school has good relationships with families and others in the community. The school is accessible by car and by public transport.

This role is offered on a full-time, contract basis from September 2023 to July 2024.

Working hours are 8.30am - 4.00pm daily and all staff are required to attend an additional 1 hour training weekly.
