Accept Recruitment is currently looking for a Night Shift Supervisor for our Client based in Leeds, Bramley, Ls13.


Job Purpose:

To manage the shift and all direct staff and others reporting to them.

To ensure the smooth running of production processes, ensuring that all products are manufactured to the highest standards, within the target and deadlines set by the company.

To ensure that all direct reports comply with the company's health and safety procedures.

  • Monday to Friday
  • 10.00pm am
  • Pay
    £14.00ph £16.00ph

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met and maintained, ensuring operatives always use the correct PPE
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping
  • Manage the direct staff ensuring they are accountable for their given responsibilities
  • Supervise, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff
  • Offer advice to Management to ensure staffing levels are met in order to meet production demands
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and other Supervisors team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Follow production schedules and adjust when required to meet customer demands and lead times
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and SOP's, which are constantly being reviewed and developed
  • Operate machinery/plant as the business requires, setting the standard for output, efficiencies and quality
  • Oversee waste management on a nightly basis, ensuring all timber skips, extraction bags and all other miscellaneous wastes are disposed of in a timely manner and in line with environmental permits (timber waste and paint waste)
  • To enforce and maintain quality standards
  • Work closely with the Production Manager other Supervisors to ensure issues and handovers are an effective communication tool
  • Deliver toolbox talks when required
  • Raise NCR's when required(after formal training)
  • Ensure all daily machine checklists, environmental checklists and production paperwork are completed correctly and fully.
  • Ensure daily/weekly maintenance is carried out and recorded on the maintenance check sheets and any issues recorded and reported to the management team.
  • Meet and exceed KPI's, where possible
  • Carry out disciplinary actions / procedures when required
  • Advise the Production Manager in any recruitment requirements
  • In the absence of the Production Manager, assume responsibilities required by the business
  • Any other duties/tasks that arise that require your skills and support

Characteristics

  • When necessary, have a "Supervise by walk round" mentality
  • To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff
  • Be a mentor and motivator
  • Do not settle for substandard performance
  • Make "in the moment" decisions that are required/necessary for all aspects of the production process. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills are used to ensure all team members can identify root causes, then take effective action to resolve any problems at hand
  • To have an active role in the company's continuous improvement plan for future growth
  • Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the company's organisational structure
  • Maintain high levels of discipline, time keeping and appearance
  • Be a figure head for the business
