Role - Exams Officer

Location - Hammersmith, West London

Hours am to 17.00pm, Monday to Friday

Salary - £14.55 per hour plus statutory holiday pay

Contract - ongoing temporary throughout the academic year

Capital Talent Box is the onsite agency of choice at West London College.

Launched in the summer of 2020 to serve the college's recruitment needs, its key aim is to provide quality agency associates to be part of the college's continuing success.

We are looking for an Exams Officer based at Hammersmith to join the college.

Key Purpose:

To deliver an effective, efficient and customer friendly examination and assessment service.

The post holder will be expected to assist in all areas of CIS in order to gain and maintain knowledge and insight on processes and procedures throughout the learner journey and will contribute to continuous personal and departmental development.


Responsibilities:


  • To provide accurate and timely registration and entry of students for external examinations in line with college procedures, using manual or computerised systems and complying with all awarding body requirements.
  • To take responsibility for understanding and communicating to academic staff the rules and procedures of the applicable awarding bodies.
  • In liaison with other members of the Examinations Team, to make all necessary arrangements for the running of examinations, such as preparing the timetable, arranging invigilation, rooming and ensuring any other requirements, such as additional support, are met.
  • To ensure secure receipt, storage and distribution of exam papers prior to examinations, and of scripts following examinations, and to take responsibility for resolving any problems as they arise.
  • To brief invigilators and students on the running of exams and any special requirements as appropriate.
  • To distribute entry details and examination results promptly to students and staff and to check and distribute certificates received from awarding bodies.
  • To ensure examination results are entered into the student records system and that accurate achievement data is produced.
  • To provide a high standard of customer service to learners, academic teams and other colleagues, providing advice, guidance and support on examination and assessment related issues as required.
  • To provide support and assistance to colleagues across the Department and other College campuses, working collaboratively when required.
  • To perform any other duties reasonably falling within the purview of the post.
