The Senior Commissioning Support Officer will provide a key supporting role to the Income and Contracting Senior Manager contributing their expertise to the contract management of several major contract areas.
The contract areas cover any or all of the following sectors:acute, community, third sector, independent sector, mental health and learning disability.
The Senior Commissioning Support Officer has responsibility for the Trust's external contracts and as such must be capable of working across organisational boundaries, as well as negotiating with and influencing senior staff of external organisations.
To work as a member of the Trust's Contract Management and Income Team in the annual negotiation of contracts with commissioners.
To lead the discussions with commissioners in the annual negotiation of contracts with commissioners.
To support service leads in discussions with commissioners on other commissioning topics such as new services, service developments, service reviews etc.
To support service leads in work with other provider Trusts and independent sector organisations to develop service level agreements and contracts to support clinical services provided by STHT on other hospital sites and provided by STHFT staff to other sites.
To ensure that the Trust develops and maintains effective relationships with all external stakeholders to maintain clear understanding of commissioning intentions, the current provider landscape and the opportunities and threats these present in order to inform strategy development, annual planning, service developments and commissioning strategies.
Ensure that all contacts by Trust staff with stakeholders are used effectively to collect information and intelligence to support the market assessment process and meet our identified information requirements.
